Langston League Office Hours Syllabus + Application!

For the last three years, Langston League has offered exclusive professional development and curriculum design services to Google Code Next, Harlem Children’s Zone, DREAM Charter School, Achievement First Schools, Medgar Evers College, #BLM Pratt Institute, and so many more organizations. We design a unique experience for each client, after surveys, focus groups, and visioning. We typically deliver quick taste PDs at our offices for free99, but this isn’t that.

This year, we’ve created a series of on-site workshops JUST FOR YOU. You’ll be able to spend four interactive weeks, in 2-hour classes, with Langston League facilitators and designers delving into our specialized professional developments. We’ll be in Downtown Brooklyn, at our WeWork Montague offices, and there’ll be surprise guests, gamification, and snackkkkks.

During session one, Olu and Erica will be co-facilitating #MoreThanKenteCloth: Introduction to Culturally Responsive Instructional Material 101. Click HERE for the syllabus.

Here’s the catch. We’re only offering each session to 10 educators at a time. How can you become one of those educators? Here’s the process:

  • Fill out this application.
    • First come, first serve.
  • Wait for your acceptance email. Instructions for payment and pre-work will come with this email.
    • We’ll still email you, even if we’re out of slots. You’ll be a part of our next session in April or May or June. *shrug*

Here’s a testimonial from one of our favorite clients:

“Partnering with Langston League was one of the best professional development decisions I have made as a director of youth programs. They were able to get everyone from my full-time managers and coordinators to our part-time group leaders, the basic skills to create more engaging activities for our scholars. They taught our staff how to lesson plan and be creative in using relatable discussions and projects that reinforce the core academic work students do in school. They were also flexible in catering to the needs of our specific program. We plan on using them for staff training once a year.”

-Salahadeen Betts, Program Director, Countee Cullen Community Center Beacon, Harlem Children’s Zone
